Ben is Director in the Office of the Chairman at Opera Solutions. In his role, Ben leads investor relations, corporate development. and partnerships.
Prior to Opera Solutions, Ben led business development at StockTwits, the pre-eminent social network for the investor community. During his tenure, Ben led strategic distribution partnerships with several key partners, including Thomson Reuters, Bloomberg, CNN, Dow Jones, Markit, WSOD, Factset, Capital IQ, Financial Times, Google, and Microsoft. He also developed a product for equity research firms to share content on StockTwits in a compliant and trackable manner, with signed pilot partners from S&P Capital IQ, FXCM, and several smaller firms. Additionally, Ben supported the corporate services business through partnerships with NASDAQ, Thomson Reuters, and Broadridge, and engagement with PR firms, such as Edelman, Burson Marstellar, and Weber Shandwick. Finally, Ben supported and/or sourced investments for Social Leverage, including eToro, BillGuard, & Klout.
Prior to StockTwits, Ben was an Associate at Greylock Partners in Israel, focused on financial technology deals in Israel and Europe. During his tenure at Greylock, Ben helped lead an investment in Wonga, a UK short-term lender, with a strong brand and excellent technology, while leading due diligence efforts on startups in the mobile payments, consumer banking and market data spaces. He also supported strategy, marketing and sales teams at Payoneer, a prepaid payments company based in Israel. He also led FinTechIsrael, a meetup group, connecting industry leaders from the technology and finance sectors with enterprising young startups and investors.
Prior to Greylock, Ben was a Senior Associate at Opera Solutions, a management consultancy focused on the financial sector. During his tenure at Opera, Ben worked on several key strategic projects in the credit card and insurance space, providing guidance on the prepaid space, leading compliance efforts on new legislation, and managing procurement optimization.
Ben also worked with MMG Partners, a management consultancy focused on emerging exchanges, market data firms, and investment banks. During his time at MMG Partners, Ben worked on market data rationalization, market size and share research, and strategy for an emerging exchange in the Middle East.
Ben holds a BSc from Cornell University in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering as well as an MBA from INSEAD.
